voicing bodies (2009)

This recording is a compilation of works from 2000-2009 that include works excerpted from multimedia performance projects  to compositions  for voice and electronics.  Collaborators featured here include Kevin Norton - drums, percussion, vibraphone,  and Katharina Klement - extended piano and electronics.  Noted for her experimental voice and language invention,  Book uses sampling, looping and other electronic interventions along with sound effects to develop the sonic poem or environmental soundscape.

Book considers these compositions mobile architectures for the ‘voicing body’, that unfold psycho-spatial reverberations between impulse, feeling, image and utterance.  Writing becomes physical and voice environmental, as she stirs her listeners to imagine new assemblages of desire in the making.
